At the Helm: A message from Tom

We had a very successful GP 2010 Launch Event! Almost 70 people attended and learned about "GP 2010 - The New Way to do Business". The folks at Heifer have a beautiful facility and were great hosts. We got some new customers out of it too!

GP 2010 is available and we've installed it at a couple of new customer sites. We're waiting for the first Service Pack before we recommend that existing customers upgrade. We expect the Service Pack in late August and we'll begin scheduling upgrades around the first of September. If you want to be one of the first to take advantage of all the new exciting and very productive features of GP 2010, let us know.

Our monthly User Group meetings are a hit. We fill our conference room every time. Hopefully, it's the content and not the free food! We normally also have a large group attending remotely. June's topic was GP Tips and Tricks as shown at Convergence. Check out our website for upcoming events and registration!

It's frustrating yet gratifying to find Arkansas Companies who purchase Dynamics software from Partners out of state and then discover that REACH is a better alternative. There seems to be a mentality that if you're from Arkansas then you’re not as capable. This seems to apply not only to professional services, but to other products and services. Come on Arkansans, be proud of your state! Our people and products are just as good if not better than anyone else's.

Microsoft is making a focused effort to reduce the number of "Gold" Partners and thereby eliminate partners that do shoddy work. This reduction will begin in October of this year. We believe Microsoft is unhappy hearing complaints about the software. In reality, the culprit is the poor implementation skills of some Partners. In the Dynamics world we think this is great. It appears that many Gold Partners think that they can just throw Dynamics on the Server and be done with it. These changes to the Microsoft Partner Plan will certainly reduce the number of "bad partners" and that's good for everyone!

Have a great summer!
